Arnet's Guide to Photoshoot Prep
So... you thought the photoshoot was the fun part huh? Actually it starts now, let me guide you below!
Step 1: Fuel From the Inside
- Drink 64 fl. oz. of water every day for clear skin
- Eat fruits and veggies for glow
- Exercise! we will be moving during our session!!
Step 2: Focus on Self-Care
- Try a face mask
- For professional facials, schedule 7+ days before the shoot to accommodate peeling/swelling
- Sleep well for bright under eyes
Step 3: Style & Prep Your Look
The outfits make 50% of the vibe, let's get it right!
- Choose SOLIDS & NEUTRALS - see Pinterest Board for inspo
- Bring multiple outfits
- Wear shorts under dresses!
- Choose accessories that highlight your theme (cowboy hats, elegant pearls, cozy scarves, cottagecore bows, sparkly boots)
- Schedule a nail appointment
- It's okay to go heavy with makeup, it washes out on camera!
Step 4: Practice Makes Perfect
- Browse Pinterest for pose ideas
- Practice in front of the mirror
- Avoid stiffness by adding angles to your limbs, no standing straight!
- For fam sessions, get comfy looking at each other!!
Step 5: Pack Props & Essentials
- Baby sessions: toys, blanket, snacks, basket
- 1st birthday: balloons, cake, wipes and towels (smash cakes are messy!)
- Maternity: ultrasound photo, baby shoes/clothes, bouquets
- Birthday: balloons, crown, sash, bouquet, cake
- Engagement: ring boxes, champagne, flowers
- Grads/Seniors: regalia, books, lettermans, college swagextracurricular props (basketball, ballet shoes)
- PLEASE BRING ESSENTIALS - walking shoes, water, fans and towels for hot days, mirror, touch up makeup, hair brush, extra outfit, bag/wagon to carry everything
Step 6: Relax & Radiate
The best photos come from feeling good - not perfect!

- Pictures portray personality, so just be you :)
